You can add PDFs to your website that can then be viewed and downloaded directly from your website itself.
Step 1 - Uploading the PDF to your VIA software
The first step is to upload the PDF to you VIA software. This will upload the file to Webdadi’s servers and make it available in the cloud. You can then access your PDF using a unique URL from anywhere.
Login to VIA
Go to Website > Links
Click Add
Fill in the various fields
Name - give your link a unique name. We recommend giving your link a name to make it easier to find in future, for example, “pdf-documents”
Visible - tick the box to make your link available online
You don’t need to fill out any of the other fields
Finally, upload your PDF documents to the media section. Once uploaded, click the box underneath the PDF icon to name your document. We recommend labelling your documents to make them easier to find in future
Once they are uploaded, click the magnifying glass icon. This will open the PDF in a new browser tab. Copy the URL link. This is the unique URL to your PDF document.
You can follow the steps above to create a new link for each document you want to, or you can simply add multiple PDF documents to the Media section of one link. We’d recommend the later as it’s more efficient to simply create one Link called “PDF-documents” and upload all your documents and simply name each PDF appropriately.
Step 2 - Linking your website to your PDF
Once you have the URL link to your PDF document, there are multiple ways you can link to it on your website by simply using the URL you have just generated.
VIA allows you to add URL links in multiple ways, be that through a simple link contained within your page, or by adding it to your main menu or footer. It’s important to have a good grasp of the basics of VIA to help you add the PDF to your website in exactly the way you want to.
