How to edit or remove the banner on your website's homepage that appears just below the main menu

You may have a sticky banner on your homepage. This is a banner, usually advertising a specific service, which sits underneath the main menu of your website. As you scroll down the page, the banner may stay at the top of the screen (this is the sticky element) or could disappear as you scroll.

To remove the banner:

  • Go to Website > Pages

  • Enter the term home in the search bar

  • Double click the page called home from the list that appears, or right click and select edit

  • Scroll to the items section. in this section, you should see an item which is the banner that has been added to your homepage. Usually, the name would be self descriptive, such as homepage-banner or something similar

  • However over the relevant item, and click the x symbol to remove it from the page

  • Click Save & Close

To edit the banner:

  • Go to Website > Pages

  • Enter the term home in the search bar

  • Double click the page called home from the list that appears, or right click and select edit

  • Scroll to the items section. in this section, you should see an item which is the banner that has been added to your homepage. Usually, the name would be self descriptive, such as homepage-banner or something similar

  • Click the relevant item, this should open a new tab in which you can edit the content of the banner itself

  • Once you have made the necessary edits, click Save & Close
