User rights to enable access to software features | What user access permissions should be given to staff?

  • VIA allows assigning different user roles with customised user access rights. Please add users carefully!

  • Carefully consider which features each user needs access to. Lock down sensitive operations.

  • The table below shows at a glance which user roles can access each software feature per plugin.

  • To enable a feature, assign a user role with access rights or get a VIA edition subscription that contains it.

  • Only provide user roles and access rights to features for those really needing it like the diary/calendar or contacts and more. You should periodically audit your users permissions and access to software features of the edition you are signed up to on subscription.

  • Tightly control external user access rights; make sure you periodically review third-party user access and their rights by way of roles assigned to them.
